I am pleased to announce that as of Jan 2012 ARTIS will be joined by Chris Norris, who will complement the existing team as a development scientist. Chris will join part time, initially, whilst completing his PhD thesis in “vascular networks for advanced self-healing fibre reinforced composite structures” with the Dept of Aerospace Engineering, Advanced Centre for Composite Innovation and Science (ACCIS), University of Bristol. Chris will complete and submit his thesis in March when he will join the team full time.
Chris also holds an MSc in Materials for Industry from Loughborough Universityand a BSc(Hons) in Applied Chemical Sciences from the University of the West of England. Chris also has won awards for the “excellent overall performance in an MSc Programme” from the IPTME and “Best overall chemistry degree” from the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Previously Chris has worked for Columbian Chemicals, UK as their rubber applications laboratory supervisor at their European Central Laboratory in Bristol, up to its closure in 2009. In his spare time Chris has a keen interest in Sea Angling in particular on the south coast of the UK and the Bristol Channel.
Chris will make a valuable addition to the team at ARTIS with his laboratory skills and wide materials knowledge – We hope our existing and new clients will all welcome him to the team and wish him well for the future. Martyn BennettChief Scientist |
