Artis Appoint Stephen Millington

On our return from the Christmas break the ARTIS team will be joined by Stephen Millington in the role of Development Scientist.

Stephen left QinetiQ and the role of Senior Technical Consultant in adhesives and sealants and brings with him expertise in bonding, surface treatments and composites testing and manufacture. Stephen has worked on many large scale projects with the likes of MOD and Airbus and has also worked as part of the Air Accident Investigation Branch at Farnborough. Stephen also brings an in depth knowledge of ISO9001 / AS9001 quality systems having led the materials group at QinetiQ to successful accreditation.

Whilst Stephen has spent his career in the Scientific Civil Service, he has held a wide range of posts with varying responsibilities in most of the variations of what is now QinetiQ including DERA and DQA – Woolwich. He graduated from Kingston Polytechnic having spent time with the Atomic Energy Authority and the police forensic science service.

Stephens prime role in ARTIS will be to help diversify our expertise into new areas as well as helping to secure longer term funded research contracts. His expertise and large range of contacts will help open up new markets for ARTIS and continue the successful track record achieved by the existing team.

Stephen currently resides in Basingstoke with his family where he enjoys reading, walking and military history in his spare time.

I hope everyone will welcome Stephen to the ARTIS team and to Avon Rubber p.l.c. and wish him well in the commercial world.
