At ARTIS our team is comprised of all the elements required to fulfil any demands you may have.

Martyn Bennett – Chief Scientist
Departmental management including budgets and buildings. Specialist technical knowledge of physics, metallurgy, polymer science, food processing, rheology, test development, ECD, statistical analysis and data management.

Dave Boast – Snr Engineering Consultant
Product design and manufacture, and the application of elastomers, in many industries. Has gained a reputation, both within Avon and in the outside world, in several fields of elastomer physics and engineering including acoustics, vibration, fluid flow and failure analysis.

Hugh Ceato – Compound Manager
Rubber compound development across a range of polymers, specialising in EPDM. Very broad technical knowledge gained over many years in the rubber industry.

Adrian Chisman – Development Scientist
Rubber compound development across a range of polymers including specialist polymers such as PU, FKM and HNBR. Specialist knowledge of dairy, protection, oil & gas and food contact applications, and of ELV and REACH legislation.

Paul Marchant – Development Scientist
Rubber compound development across a wide range of polymers. Specialist knowledge in compounding for food contact and dynamic engineering applications, with experience in rubber to metal bonding and materials testing.

Mark Smithson – Development Scientist
Problem solving, experimental design, statistical analysis, polymer rheology and flow modelling using Moldflow. Specialist knowledge of materials for respirators and flexible tanks, adhesives, and bond design and testing.

Mike Hale – Laboratory Manager
Analytical testing, dynamic mechanical testing and microscopy. Specialist knowledge of a broad range of polymers and elastomeric compounds.

Leah Ritchens – Materials Analyst
Analytical chemistry, Microscopy, physical testing. Specialist knowledge of NIOSH and CE specifications for protection, human testing of respirator products. In line product testing and troubleshooting.

Gary Whitfield – Specialist Test Technician
Specialist rubber testing e.g. TMS and thermal conductivity. Has experience of working in all departments at ARTIS.

Alison Jones – Testing Supervisor
Rubber testing to industry Standards and Specifications.

Jane Drake – Testing Technician
Rubber testing. Specialist knowledge of industry Standards and Specifications.

Mike Richman – Mixing Supervisor
Rubber mixing, calendaring, moulding, die design and a wide range of extrusion processes. Mike is also a qualified auditor.

Frank Bachelor – Mixing Technician
Rubber mixing and moulding. Technically and commercially experienced.
