Materials Development Scientist - Wiltshire
ARTIS is a flourishing new Materials Development Consultancy located in the heart of Wiltshire and is now entering its fourth year of existence. It has a very broad client base covering all aspects of materials, including research, development, testing and analysis, currently with a strong polymer / elastomer bias. It is composed of a small multidisciplinary team and we are looking to offer the right candidate an opportunity to help mould the business and grow with the team as we move the business forward.
ARTIS offers a consultancy service to industry as well as developing links to universities and is involved in collaborative R & D funded by government.
We are looking for a dynamic graduate ideally with some industrial scientific experience in a commercial environment, to add to the team. The candidate will be outgoing and have excellent interpersonal and communications skills, being required to communicate effectively at all levels from shop floor operator to chief executive.
The successful candidate will be based at our Hampton Park West facility and will be expected to grow and develop their own development programmes in partnership with our clients and contributing to the development of the business. Supervision will be provided initially but a high degree of self motivation and self management will be expected. Whilst primarily a technical role, there will be opportunities for direct interaction with customers, to formulate projects and develop business opportunities.You will be a graduate in materials, chemistry, or physics with a polymer bias, holding a 2:1 min qualification; or have suitable experience in the polymer industry. Knowledge and experience of elastomeric materials and processing will
be a distinct advantage.
