Product description

The FM53, part of the 50 series of next generation respirators, has been developed to counter the multiple threats encountered in modern war fighting and peacekeeping operations.

It provides a high level of protection against:

• Traditional chemical warfare agents
• Radioactive dusts
• Biological threats 
• Toxic industrial chemicals

The Variable Resistance Exhalation Unit (VREU) provides the user with the ability to switch instantly between APR, SCBA, and PAPR modes depending on the operational environment.

The FM53 is at the heart of the ST53 system providing unique modular protection technologies with SCBA, APR and PAPR capability (See ST53 product sheet download).

Product approvals

• NIOSH approved under Title 42, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 84 (42 CFR 84) for the FM53 Air Purifying Respirator with the CTF12 riot agent canister (approval number TC-14G-0304).

• The FM53 has been designed to be compliant with the latest US and NATO military CBRN requirements.
