ARTIS awarded Anaconda development contract

ARTIS, have recently been awarded a development contract from the Carbon Trust supporting the development of the Anaconda sea energy device. The Anaconda is a new concept for the generation of electricity from sea energy and is currently being developed by Melksham based Checkmate Sea Energy.

ARTIS awarded Development Contract with US RDECOM

ARTIS has been awarded a $270,000 development contract with the US Army, Research Development of Engineering Command (RDECOM) through the Technology Support working Group (TSWG) for the development of an integral pass through protective patch for level A protective garments.

Sevalco Closure Re-Approval and Re-Sourcing

It is with great sadness that ARTIS learns of the closure of the Sevalco carbon black plant at Avonmouth, Bristol. ARTIS has long links with the team at Sevalco plant and Columbian European Central Laboratory (ECL) and has great respect for the team at ECL.

ARTIS in consortium offered £1.2 million grant

Symphony Environmental Technologies Plc (“Symphony”), the degradable plastics and wasteto-energy Group, announces that it’s wholly owned subsidiary, Symphony Energy Ltd (the “Company”) has now been officially advised by the Technology Strategy Board that the Company and its consortium partners have been offered a £1.19m grant for collaborative research and development in the area of High Value Manufacturing, for the consortium’s Rubber Product Enhanced Recovery Technology project (“RìPERT”). The Company is the lead partner; the other members of the consortium are ARTIS (a business of Avon Rubber P.l.c.), Imperial College London, ABB Limited (Robotics Division), Hughes Pumps Limited and Credowan Limited (Subsidiary of Cobham Plc).
